How to Review a Worker Profile Before Hiring

Check relevant skills, location, available reviews and the terms of the task before hiring.

Look for a match with the actual task

Browse Workers and search by a name or skill. Read the worker's listed skills, location and description. Ask for relevant examples of previous work when appropriate. Confirm availability directly; appearing in the directory does not mean the worker is currently free to take your job.

Understand verification and reviews

Review the verification status shown on the profile and any reviews that are actually available. Verification does not guarantee workmanship, availability or safety. A profile without reviews may belong to a new worker; do not treat the absence of reviews as proof of poor work.

Agree on the work before starting

Discuss the exact scope, materials, timing, price and payment method. Put the agreement in writing and keep a copy. Smallwork connects people but does not hold work payments in escrow. Follow the safety guidance and avoid sharing sensitive personal documents unnecessarily.
